WOW year 2020 and no postings since 2018

I am truly going to try to get back into my postings of new items, talking about new techniques and tools. I switched off for several years to making jewelry, I will post pictures of some of the pieces. But till then here is a couple of my most recent pages in my junkie art journal. I would be grateful for your thoughts and would love to see works from other artists.

I am sharing some of my background pages which I really enjoy doing. Some have been made into Artist Trading Cards. Give me some feedback and tell me what you think. I am designing new things daily, so watch for my posts. I would like to see what you are doing.

Altered Journals

Good Morning,
I am happy to say I have been very busy, I am creating some different technique paintings I would like to share with you. Let me know what you think. Then I will share with you the Altered Journals I have been making and have listed on Etsy.com for sale. I have finished my fourth journal and would love to have some constructive criticism. I gave it to my granddaughter for graduation and she just loved it.They are great gifts for the college bound.

Challenges that I didn't get posted

These are 2 challenges I never got around to posting to the web sites. One is for Illustration Friday titled pajamas. The other one was for a challenge of water cans. I have been working very hard on my art though. I am in the middle of five Altered journals. I will be posting a lot of pictures and hope you really enjoy them. If you have any constructive criticism, I would appreciate it. 

Color Me Positive

This is going to be my submission for week 14 of Color Me Positive. The quote is "Embrace the Glorious Mess You Are" by Elizabeth Gilbert. It is due Wed. April 14th. This is truly my glorious mess when it comes to drawing women faces. I really have to do a lot of practice.
The other piece is a mixed media page I did for no particular challenge.

Backgrounds

These are several backgrounds I have completed, I like to keep some handy so if a challenge comes in a hurry I have a piece already started. Do any of you do backgrounds in advance, I would like to see them.

This is a couple of pieces I did for the Illustative Friday Challenge. The prompt was mushroom. I have not decided which one I will submit, as you can tell by my posts I go for a long period with out doing any journals and then I will get to it gong ho for awhile. I would like some comments as to which piece I should submit for the challenge. I look forward to seeing other submission.

Well here it is April already and I have just got back to doing pieces for my journals. I was really motivated by my therapist when I showed her a couple of my journals at our last session. She like the ideas so well she said she was going to try to get some of her other clients to try some of this journaling. Many are like me and don"t care to do a writing journal. I will be posting my newest pieces from the last 2 weeks even though I have not used any for challenges.I appreciate your thoughts good or bad as long as the comments aren't cruel, I can handle constructive criticism. 

New Year 2017

                                                Wow so hard to believe it is a new year 2018

My goal for this year is to participate and post new pieces that I have done. I remember when I first started Art Journaling. I was busy doing pieces all the time and was fairly consistent in posting, then life seems to drift in other directions and soon you are never doing any pieces let alone blogging. Therefore I am going to be diligent in doing certain challenges to keep my motivation. I intend to learn some new techniques this year. So watch for my new pieces to start to roll out and I will be looking  forward to see your new postings. Happy 2018 

Sunday Sketch

When I read Michael's posting about the Mason jars around their home and how quaint they were. So I drew my cabinet that does consist of a lot of mason jars filled with nuts, beans, lentils, coffee and more.Thank you for checking out my Sunday Sketch as I will yours.

Striped socks

This is my entry for Creative Tuesday, the theme is Striped socks to be exact, although I used all striped fashions. I am working on backgrounds again, I think it makes the page more interesting. Thank you for following me and my progress.

Rise and Fall

This is an entry for  week 17 of Journal 52. The theme was Rise and Fall. I could not post on time as my computer was acting up, so now I am moving on to week 18.

This is my entry for Illustration Friday. The theme is smoke. I used oil pastels which I have not worked with much, but I love the way they blend so well. I will be doing more entries with the oil pastels and try to get the blending even better.

These were suppose to be my entries for Illustration Friday, but I had trouble with my computer so I didn't get the entries in on time. The theme was Prince and these were my tries at sketching his face, but none really resemble him, but I did try.

This is my entry for Creative Tuesday. The theme was little monsters. I am still really having a difficulty with sketching and most of all making the page more cohesive. Hope fully someday I will get this down.

This is my entry for Illustration Friday. The theme was wood so I drew a log cabin and a couple of trees. I am still working diligently on my sketching, but I don't see great improvement yet.

Sunday Sketch Paper Ape

I came across a picture of this ape made out of paper and thought I would try to sketch it for Sunday Sketches. Still have a long way to go in sketching, but practice makes perfect.

Sunday Sketch

This is my post for The Sunday Sketch with Sophia at Blue Diary. It is not all sketched but it is what came to me when I was reading the Sunday paper, so I combined the paper, and a picture I colored with the drawn eggs.
